That wind was quite the blow Saturday night, clocking around with all the elements of a good strong rain. I think we were on the edge of a cell although we received quite a bit of wind. We heard over the radio it should be here about 10:00 pm which gave us a little time to tape the hatches so they didn’t leak (we need to order gaskets from Canada but waiting until we return to the states) Tied down the water and diesel jugs and made sure everything else was down tight, and waited. We did find one significant leak coming in under the window on the port side. Dripped in about a cup of water and another small drip near the mast. That was wonderful news. Everything else stayed dry and the deck got a good fresh water rinse. We are in hopes the 5200 did the job. Doesn’t look pretty outside but it’s dry inside! We didn’t leave the boat all day Sunday. We did call Minn’s Water Sports in the morning and he said he had just gone to the government dock but the “Fast Ferry” had not arrived yet. While waiting, we took care of things around the boat then I weaved a bit on a basket I am making and Fred took care of the auto bilge pumps. We have been manually turning on the switch because the automatic one stopped working. So I was the basket weaver and Fred the water bearer, so to speak, on a glorious Sunday. As for the “Fast Ferry”...it never came. It was a good day to learn patience and not to be angry if things don’t go the way we want it to anyway. A great friend once told me, “Patti, the world doesn’t revolve around you but, you can make a difference in this world”. That was almost five years ago. I remember that daily and have learned to adjust my sails. Why try to be in control when we all know God is in control and has a better plan than we could ever imagine? So Sunday was certainly a day of thanks and greater lessons!
