It’s Saturday already? I have two rules when I am sailing. #1-put my watch away and #2-don’t worry what day it is. I follow both rules except when I write, just to have a reference as to what day I am writing about. Actually in my past life in Wilmington, Saturday was the weekend. Here, everyday is a weekend. It’s going to be hard to adjust when I return but that’s another time.
We both got rest last night. I never got the laundry folded so that was my first job this morning after I started the coffee. Now all I need to do is the v-berth. Fred doesn’t want me to rewet the cushions to get the salt off. He is the captain. I am a bit worried about mold, but it’s his boat so we will see. At worse, he may need to have new cushions made. It is very damp on Casa Mare’. I scrubbed down the v-berth base and walls with vinegar water this morning, hoping that will help. Waiting for it to get as dry as it can before I put the cushions back. I am OCD about organization and neatness but actually I am doing pretty well with this. I have got about everything back in order except the head. It really got wet in there and most of the stuff needs wiped off and dried but I gave that job to Fred. I think we have mosquitoes breeding in here and that’s most likely where they are reproducing. Everything else is pretty much siphoned out and drying. Fred has decided to go on out to Sapodilla Bay today. I did some research last night and actually it is one of the top ten beaches. It’s also a great place to be in a “Blow” which will be starting tomorrow (Sunday) morning. There is also an interesting cave there where pirates used to us as a lookout. The interesting thing about that is full of dates and names that were carved into the limestone back as far as the late 1700’s. I think it is called pirates cove or cave. It never did really give it a name. We can get there by dink. I would really like to see that also.
This may be my last post for a while. Tuesday will be the day of departure (as of this morning but things change) to Ambergis Cay, stay overnight, then Wednesday we will go to Great Sand Cay. That will take about 1/2 day. Then we may stay there for the night or leave about 5:00 that night to sail overnight to Luperon and get there by daylight. Everything is subject to change. Probably the next time you will hear from me will be from Luperon but the SPOT will be going. It’s 9:30, time to get busy. I will post this now and if I have time, I will get back online and add to this. Please keep us in your prayers, especially for that overnight. I am having so much fun. This is better than that show “Survivor” and yes, I would do it again. I miss and love you all !
