This morning I was woken by rain dripping down on my face. A squall had made it’s way to Sapodilla Bay and fresh rain is actually good here. Better than salty waves. I looked above my head and it was streaming down from the side window along the teak molding just above my head. ‘Don’t worry about this Patti...this is his boat, not yours’. Rain was also pouring into all three open hatches and I just let him handle the situation himself, after all, he has been a single handed sailor for quite some time. I just covered my head with my blanket to keep my face from getting wet and went back to sleep. At this point I wasn’t sure yet if he really appreciated any help from me anyway, and I chose to stay in my own dripping little space on the boat. And I thought ‘if he needs help he can ask’. About 11 am I was hungry. I had not eaten a thing yesterday and a cup of coffee and a few cookies was about all I thought I could handle at the moment. Fred is over on the settee snoring. Guess he didn’t get enough sleep last night. This boat is small and I am perfectly fine with Fred over there in his cozy little dry space. Today was a perfect day to transfer all my addresses to a new address book I brought along, and read in between. I slept all day.
