We had a hard time starting this morning. Actually, I truly suspect we were both stalling to step into the outside world. Casa Mare’ has certainly become our comfort zone. Fred decided to bite the bullet and rent a car. He banged the side of his head three times trying to get in it throughout the day and said, “I’m not getting one of these” referring to his semi search for another car. Since he may have it for nearly a week I suggested he return it to the car rental and ask for something he could crawl into without sub-decapitating himself. He never did. We stopped at a few places, including Wal-Mart and Lowes for boat things and picked up a few groceries. It was exciting to see a bag of gingersnaps for 1.98 compared to the 6-8 dollars a bag in the islands. There is a trade off for living the island life. When we got back there was a slew of people at the end of our dock, all sitting in lawn chairs. We pulled ours out and joined them for about an hour. It was a good way to wind down. My tummy was a bit queasy so I told Fred that Rod may enjoy that steak more then I would, since I was afraid to eat anything. He came over and he and Fred ate dinner together while I just conversed with the two of them. I had soda crackers. I am going to bed early. Nothing really of any significance to share today, Rod is lonely since Timex’s owners returned from Canada and took him back. I think Rod is one of the best pet sitters I have known. He actually pointed his one and only fan on Timex as Rod sat around wishing he had two fans. I know Rod will miss Timex, who is going back to Canada in a few days. We will most likely spend the remaining days here doing repairs before we head out for Wilmington, NC.
