It’s nice to get up on my own and glorify in the Lord for giving me the opportunity to think of him before I even open my eyes. My heart is settled and eager to meet the day. I knew it would be a good day to go to the beach but somehow it didn’t end up that way, it ended up better! Fred worked on the engine. I have learned not to ask many questions and just go my own way, letting him know I am here if he needs me for anything. Before I finished my first cup of coffee I was on the computer, trying to file the pictures I have downloaded and got most of them done. We thought we would join the other cruisers at the Long Island Breeze Resort and watch the Ravens win. Even though they lost, it was fun to watch everyone get excited about the game. You could tell who the Ravens fans were…their dinghy’s were screaming out of the dinghy dock back to their boats. The others stayed and celebrated their team win. I chuckled in silence...thinking...well…’it’s only a game’, although it would be nice if everyone won. I too have my hang-ups but, football is not one of them. That’s what makes this world interesting. Sorry Raven’s fans, you still have next year! It’s not about winning, it’s about finishing and they were one game short. They did well all through the season.
I got some stuff done here on the boat this morning also. Sorted out the aft cabin which is a nightmare, bery similar to a shed, basement or garage. In a boat, it’s all three and more. It’s like an Easter egg hunt, even though I think it is organized I know food crawls out of one storage container at night into another. Fred said next year will have this all figured out. I strongly agreed! Gorilla glue, wood, a hammer and a few nails with doors and walla, custom made cabinets. If we ever had company, they could sleep in the cockpit or on the lazerette. We definitely could use that space for storage. We are well stocked though! Finally gave up the Christmas werath we hung on the bow. The idea was great but it was time to deep six it. We took it to Long Island Breeze and left it on their steps of their home next door as an anonymous gift. It was fun to leave it and we hope they will use it next year.
I also planted some more plants and gave Fred his cup holder at the helm back. That should quiet a few grumbles from him. He just doesn’t understand a love for plants and still calls them weeds. I can’t wait to see stuff growing under his boat, as most boats are vulnerable when exposed to the sea. Still he grumps, but hey, I do the dishes, I do the laundry, I do the cleaning and I do the cooking and I even wash dishes. Guess I could throw everything overboard and let him take all my jobs in exchange but...I like to do all of those, including gardening and collecting shells, which is annoying him also. He’ll get over it, LOL
I got to talk with Mom and Dad today with Skype. I didn’t think I could because I brought the wrong headphones with me and they couldn’t hear me . Fred came out and connected and called them with his computer. It was good to hear their voice. That was the highlight of the day. I got caught up on my daily postings and got to post a few pictures also. My computer is not behaving and I cannot post as a group today for some reason.
Tomorrow we are renting a car again with Jay and Norma and exploring the North end of Long Island in the Bahamas. They are just pictures, no to worry. I also got to message Marion. That was wonderful and it was fun to catch up on things with her. We have fun together and I miss her so. Sounds like we “MAY” be leaving for Rum Cay on Wednesday or Thursday with Ronnie and Monica fron s/v “EOS”. I say “may” because on a boat, you never make plans. They often change. We were pretty much scrapping Conception Island and Rum Cay until our trip back but I don’t care where the wind takes us, I am just grateful I am on Casa Mare’ with Fred and Stasia. The rest is up to God!
